What we process
Account details (email, display name, username and language preferences); surfer profiles and preferences; location details you choose to share; trips, photos, videos, private messages, comments and interactions; requests, invitations, reports and support tickets; technical access, security and notification data.
Why we process data
To authenticate accounts, display profiles with selected visibility, coordinate trips and conversations, suggest matches using preferences, send notifications, moderate the community and protect the service. Billing information is processed by the relevant payment providers.
What other people can see
Profiles, trips, posts and interactions may be visible according to your settings and in-app permissions. Private chats are for participants, subject to necessary safety and moderation measures. Avoid posting information you wish to keep private.
Service providers and transfers
Infrastructure may include Supabase (account and database), Cloudflare (delivery and security), Wasabi (media storage), Firebase/Google (notifications and Android billing), Brevo (email) and Stripe (web payments when enabled). Exact providers, processing locations and international transfer safeguards require verification against live configuration and agreements. We do not sell personal data.
Retention, deletion and security
Account deactivation takes effect immediately and is currently reversible for 30 days, followed by scheduled permanent deletion. Some backup records or legally necessary information may remain for applicable periods; technical timelines and exceptions must be verified before publishing. We use access controls and technical measures to protect the service.
Your choices and rights
You can manage profile visibility, block members and request access, correction or deletion, along with other applicable rights. Contact support in the app or use the external contact on this page. EEA residents may have additional GDPR rights and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
Children and updates
SurfTripMate is intended for users meeting the minimum age set in its terms. This policy can change as features and service providers change; the current text will be available at this URL.
